Meet the heroes of 2 Chronicles
The Divided Kingdom
Commentary
In 2 Chronicles 19, King Jehoshaphat of Judah is commended for his faithfulness to God. He had just returned from a successful campaign against the Moabites and Ammonites, and the people of Judah were praising him for his victory. However, Jehoshaphat was not content to rest on his laurels. He was determined to continue to serve God faithfully and to lead his people in the ways of righteousness. Jehoshaphat appointed judges throughout the land to ensure that justice was served and that the people of Judah were living in accordance with God's laws. He also sent out Levites and priests to teach the people about God's laws and to remind them of their duty to obey them. The chapter ends with a reminder that God is always watching over his people and that he will reward those who are faithful to him. Jehoshaphat's faithfulness to God is a great example for us all to follow. We should strive to be faithful to God and to serve him with all our hearts.
